After graduating high school I went to RIT/NTID to study American Sign Language interpreting. Even though I loved ASL and Deaf culture, I decided that the interpreting program wasn't for me. While attending RIT, I took a health/wellness class in massage therapy. It really interested me, and the more I researched it, the more fascinated I was by massage. I decided to attend the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage in Rochester. It was one of the most challenging and enjoyable experiences of my life. I had finally found something that I was passionate about. I completed the intensive 6-month program and graduated as salutatorian in December, 2009. I took my massage therapy boards at the end of January, and received my massage therapy license in March, 2010.
I began working shortly thereafter, and I've never stopped learning. Having had the opportunity to work on several no fault insurance cases (people who had been in car accidents) I have been able to really develop my medical massage therapy techniques. Massage therapy is a very fulfilling and rewarding career. My goal is to provide personalized massage in a safe, comfortable, relaxed environment in order to relieve stress, aches and pains, and maintain a happy, healthy, and connected mind and body.
After being in the mortgage/banking world for 31 years I knew that it was time for a change of pace. I needed to find another way to help people, but without the stress that buying a home entails. That's when I decided to study at the Continental School of Beauty and become a licensed esthetician. Now everyday I can work in a relaxing environment that was designed and created by me. While Jenifer makes you feel good, I make you look good. I believe in providing an upscale spa experience, without the upscale prices. I want everyone to be able to take care of themselves and providing services at reasonable prices allows everyone to do so. I am very excited to be starting this new business venture and have created a job that is my own personal Oasis.
